The process with Atlassian has been painful to say the least. I’ve had 2 recruiters and a hiring manager reach out to me to set up first round interviews- all of which seemingly went well. Or so I thought since they all asked for availability for the next round. However, after that it was radio silence from both recruiters. After saying they want to proceed me to the next round and the roles seem like a fit, they all ghosted me. Despite me following up with each MULTIPLE times (I have a paper trail of the numerous follow ups) they never even had the decency to say they went in another direction or change their mind. Instead, 2 months later, I received an automated email saying the role had been filled. To say that’s a horrible candidate experience would be underselling the process. In todays economy, when layoffs in tech are happening on a daily basis, there’s so much uncertainty and uneasiness, the least recruiters can do is have the decency and empathy to respond to a candidate they gave hope to.
