The process was extremely long. Multiple interviews with several different people in the company for a somewhat entry level position. Also hour long assessments as part of the interview process. 2 months spent for someone to be hired internally for an entry to mid level position isn’t realistic.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Assurity Life Insurance Company in Feb 2025
Interview
Had what I thought was the recruiter call. She only had a few questions then said she was going to transfer me to the assistant manager for tech interview. Then said if I got past both of those, they'd want to fly me out for an in person interview. It's a remote position so that seems unnecessary especially with all the planes crashing. Like for real?

Question 1
solid principles, how to make code easily testable, how to go about fixing bad legacy code, when to use an interface, something you've been criticized on, how to learn new tech, a challenge you've had to overcome, local storage vs session storage, box model in css, media queries in css

Interview
At Assurity, I had an interview. She asked some simple questions over the phone, and when she connected with the technical lead, he asked questions that were completely at odds with the job description. I'm not sure how this organization operates.
