I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Assouline Publishing (New York, NY)
Interview
very straightforward- but not looking to go in office 5 days a week. still owned by founder and they are very involved. cool books but it sounded like very old school culture of staying at your desk and being the last to leave etc
Interviewed with HR via video: 30-minute conversation with little to no structure. HR had hardly any information about the position or its requirements. I was probably over-qualified but despite several emails asking for more information about the role or feedback about the interview, they never even bothered to write back saying the job was eliminated or filled. Unprofessional.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
About previous experience and challenges in publishing.
Lengthy process, interview dates far apart. Material requests that are not reviewed and Leadership interviews are short with no concrete structure. Poor and not timely updates and follow ups on the process. Role availability and type (full time to freelance) changed throughout the process.
