Interview
I never received any response after completing the assignment, which required a significant amount of time and effort. It’s disappointing and unprofessional to ask candidates to do unpaid work and then ghost them entirely. It feels exploitative and misleading — not the kind of behavior you’d expect from a company that claims to be one of the fastest-growing startups in NYC.

Technical Task (max 2 hours):
1. Initial Step:
• Visit assists.com on a mobile device.
• Choose any page on the site.
2. Performance Inspection:
• Use tools like Lighthouse, DevTools, and check Core Web Vitals.
• Identify technical issues, such as:
• Load speed problems
• DOM structure inefficiencies
• Unused CSS/JavaScript
• Render-blocking resources
• Plugin bloat
3. Propose WordPress-side Solutions:
• PHP/template file changes
• Plugin replacements
• functions.php adjustments
• Caching configurations
4. Submission Format (choose one):
• A short Loom video (max 5 minutes)
• A bullet-point write-up explaining what you’d fix and why

Interview
Client is late and rude. While the interview was taking place, he wasn't even paying attention but was busy typing on his laptop while his mobile kept on receiving notifications from Slack. He didn't even bother to put it on DND for 1 minute. I understand the busy life of an executive so I wouldn't mind rescheduling it if it really is conflicting with other meetings. 1 month has passed and still no update not even a rejection letter. Really tells a lot.

This company has no desire of hiring anyone. They will call for an interview and during the process they let you browse their website. This is a new trick to increase their traffic and you never back from them afterwards. They will ghost afterwards with no explanation . They have multiple positions which have been listed for over a year
