I went for an initial interview which I felt went well. Those interviewing me were friendly and put me at the ease, and the questions were fairly straight forward. I was told at the end of the interview to expect to hear from them ‘sometime next week’. The following week I heard nothing, when I reached out I was told they were waiting for someone to come back from annual leave before doing the second round of interviews. Over the next month I repeatedly reached out through the recruiter to enquire about the outcome of the interview and was repeatedly asked old I could expect to hear from them shortly. During this period I was also interviewing at other places and eventually accepted an offer from one of them. Finally, nearly 8 weeks after the initial interview I was contacted by the recruiter and informed Aspen had decided to go with another candidate with more programming experience, which is very valid feedback, and by this point I already had another job offer somewhere else. I’m not sure what the cause of the delay was, the recruiter, HR or the the team themselves, but I don’t believe it should take 2 months to hear back from an interview.
