I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Arrowstreet Capital in Mar 2023
Interview
Four stages: - 30 min technical screen - 1 hr coding exercise - 1 hr deep technical discussion - 30 min call with senior director Was told by recruiter for 2+ weeks that the team liked me and they were just getting through an interview with an internal referral candidate and I should just be patient. On their end they decided to rug pull the offer at the last moment. Just be aware this might happen and take other glassdoor reviews to heart. Mendacious middle level managers. Some things I learned from the interview process: - great pay and benefits, free lunch - very low tech finance company still migrating to AWS in 2023 - decent WFH policy - engineers seem like nice people! - they aren't actually using any ML (according to senior director)

Question 1
- 30 min technical screen High level discussion about python and engineering basics - 1 hr coding exercise easiest coding problem I've done, almost thought it was a joke tbh. First was, create a class that calculates the moving average of a list of numbers Second was, basic SQL statement Third was, something about modifying the words in the string to remove "ing" "ed" "ly" at end of some words - 1 hr deep technical discussion Pretty straightforward architectural design call with two of the engineers. If you know what a microservice you'll do fine lmao. - 30 min call with senior director just a cultural type interview call seeing who I am and why I wanted to work there. not great vibes with this guy tbh
