I applied online. I interviewed at Arnold Magnetic Technologies (Sheffield, England) in Feb 2024
Interview
Very thorough, they were well prepared. They acknowledged by CV, invited me to interview and I got a tour of the facility - which was very helpful to see where I would be working and what I would be working on

Question 1
Experience and qualifications. Previous employers and background
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Arnold Magnetic Technologies (Sheffield, England) in Oct 2018
Interview
The process went well to begin with, using a recruitment agency as an intermediary. I was asked for an interview around two weeks after initial contact was made and all seemed to be well. I attended an interview in which the people were very polite and helped me feel at ease. I got a good look around the work area and an insight into their processes. I was told that I would be given feedback around 10 days later. Over four weeks there has still been no contact and no feedback. The company refuses to give a concrete answer to the recruitment agency they chose to find candidates. All the recruitment agency is told is "we are waiting". This shows a complete lack of courtesy and respect for their candidates. After researching I have found I am not the first candidate to have been treated this way.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Arnold Magnetic Technologies (Rochester, NY) in Aug 2017
Interview
Because Arnold is a global company with management at different locations around the country, several of my interviews were via phone. I met locally with one decision maker, and spoke with my (now) direct supervisor via phone. I also had a conference call with the CEO and local plant manager.
None of the conversations were high stress, in fact I found each of the gentlemen to be easy to talk to and congenial. I appreciated their candor and willingness to listen. I felt confident that by the end of the process they really understood how my experience and strengths could make a difference at their company.
Less than a month from first-contact, I had an offer in hand. I anticipate that for other positions that don't report to out of state managers, the process likely goes much faster.
