      Enrollment Specialist Interview

      27 Oct 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Aria Care Partners in Sept 2014

      Interview

I was called by April Phinney, she spoke with me briefly on the phone and we then set up a time and date for the first interview. During the first interview, I sat and talked with April and she asked me a series of questions. April was very friendly and professional. When she finished the interview she told me to be prepared to be called in for a second interview. A day or so later, April called and asked me to come in for a second interview and a shadowing session. During the second interview I sat with April and Michelle Dillard, our HR manager. After a short Q&A session, April and Michelle explained company policies and procedures with me and then had me sit with an Enrollment Specialist named Kathy. I sat with Kathy for about an hour watching and listening to her call clients. She was very friendly and helpful anytime I asked her a question about the enrollment process. After I finished shadowing with Kathy, April and Michelle asked me if had any further questions for them and then told me to expect a call within the next few days regarding their decision. April and Michelle called me the next day to inform me that I had the job as long as I could pass the test and become a certified health insurance agent. They gave me three weeks to study with provided material and then I had to take the test in Tallahassee. I passed the test and started the next week.

      Question 1

It may sound silly, but the toughest part of the interview for me was when April and Michelle asked me to sell my phone to them. I was not prepared and I felt like I stumbled through that part.

THANK YOU for the feedback! Wonderful information and insight into our on-boarding process. Our interviewing process can seem to be difficult to some as we're really driving to hire TOP TALENT, so some questions may come as "surprises". Since this was a sales role, seeing someone handle a sale is part of our interview process and for some that we bring on without a sales background, this can be somewhat unnerving. We don't shy away from someone coming into this department without a sales background - in fact, some of our top performers had no prior sales experience. We appreciate your candid feedback and will use it to further refine our on-boarding process.
