I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Apache (Houston, TX)
Interview
Friendly people. Got the interview through a headhunter and a connection.
It's difficult to get into Apache, I tried for several years before getting in.
People were friendly and respectful through out the whole process.
Negotiated the offer a little bit.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions about years of experience, past projects, past accomplishments.
It was very easy and the questions were somewhat expected. I was entry level so the questions asked of me were more about my characteristics as a potential employee. The interview was over the phone due to the pandemic
I interviewed with Apache in Houston at an AAPG convention as a masters student studying geology. Overall the interview was fairly laid back with no real hard line questions. However you got the feeling that the questions they were asking, though not the "traditional" type, definitely held weight. It was with two people, both men. It went well and I was offered an internship a month or so afterwards. Everything I have read and seen with respects to the company makes it seem like a good place to call home.
