      Global Management Trainee Interview

      13 Jan 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Anheuser-Busch InBev (Toronto, ON)

      Interview

1st Step: Submit Resume Online 2nd Step: Online Personality Test - multiple choice - what would you do in this type of situation type questions 3rd Step: Logical Reasoning Test ex) There are five people in a line; A,B,C,D,E. A is in front of D, B is beside E and C, E is in the third position. What is the order? 4th Step: Case Study Interview You get half an hour to look over a case where you have to choose two seasonal beers to add to their portfolio and design a marketing campaign. There are four applicants in a conference room preparing for the presentation at the same time. Then you get fifteen minutes to individually present your choices to two AB InBev and have a Q&A about your choices. You are given objectives such as profit margins, demographics, capacity constraints etc. 5th Step: Behavioural Interview One hour, mine was a three-on-one interview with two former GMTs. Very standard questions, they ask Why you? and Why AB InBev GMT? at every stage of the interview process. 6th Step: ABI Day Full Day, first half was a group case study where you are broken into teams and each team is given an objective such as "Improve campus recruitment" or "Make ABI more environmentally friendly". There are always people watching you as you are working in your group and then your group makes a presentation and takes questions. Questions are very direct, in each group, someone was asked who would you fire or who was the worst person in your group. The second half of the day was a business simulation game. In teams, you have to make three decisions for each month for a fictitious beer company; price, advertising budget and percent of advertising budget spent on social responsibility stuff. There are four teams and at the end of each month, each team is asked several questions on how they did, how they made their decisions, why they are in their position, who was the best and worst person in the team, etc. They are looking for data-backed decisions. The worst reactions were to applicants that made decisions based on gut feeling or that were just guesses. 7th Step: Final Panel Interview They fly everyone in North America to St. Louis for a panel interview. The actual interview part is very short. You're there for a full day but most of the day is preparation with an HR rep, you get a tour of the factory, they give you lunch and then you get the interview. There were 14 ABI interviewers and 6 interviewees in my interview group. All of the interviewers introduced themselves and then the interviewees each gave a two minute personal profile pitch. After that, each person was asked 2-3 questions throughout the interview and then was given an opportunity to ask questions to the interviewers.
