I had a phone screening with HR which was about 15 minutes, followed by a meeting with the hiring manager and HR rep which lasted about 20 minutes. Both calls went very well from my standpoint, and all signs pointed to a third (and final) interview. I was sent a case study to work on which took a long time to complete - approx. 3-4 hours. I submitted it 2 days later and then 2 weeks went by without any update, only to be told they were pursuing other candidates who 'better matched their preferred qualifications". It felt like they had their mind made up after the 2nd interview, not sure why they'd ask me to spend all of that time on a case study. Or if the case study was not done up to their standards, it would have been helpful to understand what exactly was done (or not done) up to their standard. Overall, the interview process was frustrating and disappointing.
