American Leather interview questions

Horrible experience with the interview process. I interviewed for a month, with 8 different people. On-site twice for 3 hours each time. I was told that I was the only candidate at this final round and when I left after the final interview, the CHRO shook my hand and said he looked forward to working with me, then I get a call from the recruiter 2 days later saying they were going to pass. Why would you say you're looking forward to working with me, then pass??? I didn't even get an explanation, except that I was not "formal" enough. What does that even mean? This experience tells me that they are not trustworthy. Be cautious.
