      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at American Income Life (Nashville, TN) in Jan 2018

      Interview

I applied online for a position as a Training Manager, responsible for learning and professional development of other employees at the company. I will first say that the company listed was Hamilton Group, but during research, I realized it was difficult to find any information on this company. It turns out that's because the job isn't with Hamilton Group at all, but AIL. That's when the research really started. Thanks to Glassdoor, I was able to mentally prepare myself for what sounded like a shady interview process. And that's exactly what it was. Upon arrival for the interview, I was asked for copies of my resume and references, which I submitted. I then received a form to fill out that asked my to write out the exact information on my resume. I proceeded to the one-on-one interview with someone who clearly hadn't taken the time to read my resume, didn't provide me with any further details about the position, and asked me generic questions like "this is our ideal candidate (more generic drivel): how do you match up?" After that, I was led to a conference style room with other prospective candidates, where the Regional Manager proceeded to provide us with the very company information that was so hard to find online. FOR AN HOUR. With again, no role-specific information. It became clear that this was an underhanded way for them to recruit insurance sales agents. In the end, I walked out before submitting to anything else. The whole process would have been better had they not used a sham company to list the job and to list a job that actually existed, rather than waste my time.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at American Income Life in Jun 2022

      Interview

They talk more than you do and they take all of your questions in the beginning of the interview and wait until the end to answer them. This isn't really an interview but more of a sales pitch. They are trying to sell you on joining their pyramid model. They want you to become a "manager in training" meaning every sale you make, your manager gets a cut of.. then when you become a manager you have to recruit more people to sell under you. It's ridiculous that they treat this like an interview. They don't care who you are, they just want you to sell so they can make money off of you. The job is also 100% commission, they don't offer base salaries.

      Question 1

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at American Income Life (Omaha, NE) in Aug 2020

      Interview

Not at all what I thought the job was. They purposefully hide what the job is until you get there... it’s quite ridiculous and unprofessional. It’s insurance sales... the company tries to market towards people looking for customer service or management positions.

      Manager In Training Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Arlington Heights, IL
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at American Income Life (Arlington Heights, IL) in Feb 2019

      Interview

A three-step interview. Had a quick one-on-one, followed by a group interview, followed by another one-on-one. They don't really explain what you do until the last interview. I didn't find out it was a commission only job till the last interview. During the group interview they do an overview of everything and make the job sound amazing due to the money, but it's just another door-to-door sales job at the end of the day. If you're not into sales, don't bother with this company.
