      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at American Express (New York, NY) in Mar 2019

      Interview

The AMEX recruiting team is easily the worst I’ve dealt with in any of my interviews with other companies. They completely lack a sense of urgency or compassion. What they absolutely fail to understand is that interviewers dread the suspense and the not-knowing significantly more than the rejection. So many emails have gone unreplied when asking for an update on candidacy. It’s better to say things are still in the works than ghosting your candidates, especially if they have interviewed in person!! The team there needs to step up their process. I am sure AMEX is a great place to work, but their recruiting team really brings it down a few levels.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at American Express in Feb 2022

      Interview

I normally wouldn't write reviews of interviews but this one just needs to be shared. After clearing 5 rounds of interviews successfully and having a verbal offer conversation, they ghosted me! A month or so later, I get a standardized rejection email with no clarification or any personalized comment to say the least. People put effort into these interviews. Candidates research your company, prepare thoroughly for the role and take initiative to check in regarding their progress. The least you can do is show some common dignity to people.
