      Analytics Manager- Fraud Interview

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at American Express (Phoenix, AZ) in Feb 2019

      Interview

I applied via AX career website sometime in early February. About two weeks later, I got an email from a recruiter to schedule a call. The call with the recruiter occurred late February. She was really nice and pleasant to speak with. Nothing too crazy was asked, just your basic HR type of questions to see if you align with what they're looking for. The one thing that stuck me odd was that she asked me if I really had a Masters as listed on my resume ( guess someone stated they had a M.S. but really didn't and got caught in the bkgd check). I waited for another two weeks to get be informed via email that they wanted to schedule a 30 min technical call. The technical call was rather easy and asked more questions revolving around SQL then Machine Learning. The call lasted the entire 30mins and ended on time. Another two weeks pass, and they emailed me to schedule an in person interview with two VP's in 30-min increments. I figured it would be more behavioral, but it ended up being technical and behavioral, to which I wasn't quite prepared for. Nonetheless, I provided my responses in the most humble manner. Overall the two interviews with the VP's were also more conversational in nature but still technical. I left the interview feeling positive and relieved it was all over with. It wasn't till almost to the exact two weeks marks since my final interview that I received a call from AX's HR and communicated that they were presenting me with an offer. I didn't negotiate since they had met my request for what I filled out on my application and accepted their generous offer.
