      Flight Attendant Interview

      30 Jun 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dallas, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Jun 2023

      Interview

I interviewed at DFW on june 29th. The moment I got there the flight attendant who was helping with recruitment greeted me and I did not like her vibe. Pretty much everyone’s personality that was running it was over the top fake nice. You are escorted in small groups to a conference room. Altogether there was only 25-30 people. You’re seated at a table with other interviewees. Our table had 7 of us. This is when you need to be engaging and socializing. Then they have you do a group activity where you guess characteristics about each other. I like playing games so I genuinely thought it was fun for an ice breaker but they’re watching you the whole time and I don’t know exactly what they’re watching for. Then you do panel interviews. One recruiter comes to the table and asks everyone one question. We did two rounds of that. After that they show a slideshow presentation about working at AA while the recruiters are deliberating. Once that is done they come in and say they need to wrap up the interview because there is a shuttle scheduled to take people back to the airport and everyone needs to look out for an email from them in 7-10 business days. They said the interview was supposed to be from 2-6 but they were ending it at 4:40 before they got to one on ones ,so I knew this meant the first round of people were getting cut loose. I was called in the first group and it felt really humiliating . I know other people knew what was going on and then other people just seemed confused. Some of the people that got cut were all happy on the shuttle thinking they got the job…it was sad. I’m really grossed out about how they went about this. There has to be a better way to let people know they didn’t get the job without deceiving them. I would have way more respect if they pulled the group out and told us to our faces. It’s pretty cowardly and goes directly against their supposed values.
