i am still in the process of the pre employment review,.
i applied initally online. then asked to do an online interview. six questions were asked on line and i answered them by phone verbally. there was a 3 minute time limit per question,
asked to come to dallas for a persoanl interview
we all gathered in one room to be handed a clip board and answer the essay question which was : if you could go anywhere in the world. where would you go and why.
while we were doing this there was one person taking out passports. it must be at least one year before expiring. needs to be no more than one year before expiring.
we went to another room:
we were told to go to any table. it down. each table was 5 candidates.
we were groups of five. each table .. there was a rolled up piece of white paper with four magic markers on the table
one of , anyone, draws a large circle in the middle of the paper. three lines across inside the circle as well. we were told to make it colorful and were shown an example the interviewers had already put together for us to see on a board.
mind you, while in this room display a smile, there are approx. 10 different other flight attendant interviewers in the back of the room taking notes. they have between 17-30 years with the company and are flight attendants as well. they are watching everyone in that room and taking notes!! be aware of your body language and how well you interact with your table
be yourself. dont be pretentious or too sure of yourself. but display confidence and self esteem and be considerate of others around you. say hello, use names where you can,
shake hands firmly , not too hard, not wispy !!
in this large intial group each of us had to talk to one another at the table. the three lines inside the circle were to represent three things all of us at the table had in common.
then each of us had to draw a single line outside that same circle and tell one specific thing only specific to you.
each table stands up. and your table designates a speaker and the others in the room have to guess what single line attribute matches up to each repsective single person
shown a video.
then called out 6 at a time. and go to another room. in a half circle no order. we just sit down at random
the two interviewers face us, they proceed to tell us the questions will be asked twice out to the group, anyone can answer in no specific order. there were five questions i think asked.
why do you want to work for AA?
what qualities would you look for in hiring for this position if you were the interviewer?
what have you done to make a difference in either a neighbors life or in the community?
what are you currently doing . work, homemaker, etc. or what have you done in the past?
mind you, these interviewers dont have but a pen and paper and made it very clear they dont know shorthand!
be sensitive to this.
talk slowly. they tell you as group. that they are taking notes on what we say. may or may not have eye contact with us from time to time as a result. they say this directly to us as a group. listen!!
talk slowly, distinctly, and most of all, be brief
after this panel group interview. we went back to the room with the tables and sat where we were in the beginning,
another video presentation which was the day in the life of a flt attend
this lasted apporx 30 minutes.
interviewers are outside the room.
they are gathering,,, deciding at this time who to call out for a one to one interview
i was called and had this interview. it went well. only a few questions.
first one, do you have any visible tatoots? if you do they wont hire you.
am i ok with starting over? why do i want to do this ?
am i ok with relocating ? do i need to give two week notice to another job?
i was then walked down to do fingerprinting and the reach test.
you are asked if you have ever committed a felony by the fingerprint guy, he uses a machine. its simple. and he is very nice.
the reach test is to stand flat footed and reach for an item in an existing mock up overhead bin
