I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Aug 2013
Interview
First I was invited to do a web cam interview online two weeks after applying online. After completion of that interview about 9 days later I was called to attend a face to face interview in Dallas, TX. There were about 40 candidates total. We watched a video and did a fun icebreaker type group presentation . We were split up into groups of 4 or 5 and everyone had to name one unique thing about themselves and find three things the people in your group had in common. After that it was time for the real interview...We were split up into different groups of 5 and taken into a room with two recruiters. They asked 3 questions. Much easier than I expected. The questions were: Tell us about yourself and what benefit would you bring to American Airlines? Name a recent time you did something for the community or a neighbor? Last question, name one thing you learned about another person in the room?
After that we were taken back into the room with all of the candidates and shown a video about the pay and benefits. They then told us this concluded our interview day and we would be called one by one to go get our boarding pass and they would walk us to the shuttle.
My name was the 3rd to be called, they took me in another room with another recruiter, she handed me my boarding pass and began to ask more in depth interview questions ( 1 on 1). After that I was taken into another room for the height test and fingerprinting. My interview was on a sat, by that Monday (2 days later) I got an email saying they are moving me forward to the next step which is the background check. That where I am right now
