I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Altar'd State (Arlington, VA) in Jan 2020
Interview
I had a phone interview with the company's recruiter followed by another phone interview with the two DMs for the district. After those went well I was asked to meet with the DMs for an in person interview. It was very relaxed, both DMs were easy to talk to while still being thorough with my skill set and employment experience. They asked about the other stores I had managed; what my responsibilities were, what volume those stores were, and what my leadership style was like. The interview lasted about an hour. We had one or two other phone conversations after that to discuss salary expectations. About a month after the first interview we had a final phone conversation where I verbally accepted the offer and we discussed start dates. The recruiter that I had worked with sent me my offer letter via email and helped me start the process for the background check. The next week I was at work!
I applied online. I interviewed at Altar'd State in Dec 2020
Interview
Basic interview questions for the first and second round. Second round was with the two district managers (operations and visual). They will ask you about organization and your knowledge on visual merchandising.
After the second interview I was asked for a portfolio of my visual work and then examples of when my visual decisions made a direct positive monetary impact for my previous employer(s).
After this I was invited to the store to meet the district managers (first interview was over zoom). Took about a week to get the offer, the full process took about 3 weeks.
Being knowledgeable and energetic will definitely help.

Interview
1st: 20 min phone chat with recruiter about the brand
2nd: 45 min casual phone interview with recruiter and asked to take a Gallup survey which took about an hour to complete online
3rd: Passed Gallup and proceeded to have 1 hour in person meeting with District Manager - very comfortable and casual and felt at ease
4th: 30 min final interview with second DM (each district in this company has two district managers)
The entire process sounds lengthy but it was very casual, things moved along very quickly and it was extremely comfortable and positive with each of the three women that interviewed me.
