I applied online. The process took 7 months. I interviewed at Alta Devices (Sunnyvale, CA) in May 2017
Interview
I first got a phone interview. Then I have an interview with the manager. Then with an engineering that I was going to work with. Then I came back again to interview with the manager and another engineering and the othe techs. Then another time with HR and one more engineer. Then after all that wait for like 6 months
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Alta Devices
Interview
1) HR phone call
2) Technical phone conversation with hiring manager (Unfortunately, this was a surprise phone unscheduled phone call, HR didn't give me a heads up)
3) Invite to on-site interview with 45 min presentation followed by five 1-on-1 interviews (~30 min each); this was somewhat painful. Although all of the team members I met were polite and asked valid questions, the interview was scheduled from 10 am - 3 pm with no scheduled breaks for food/coffee/restroom - towards the end of each interview the next team member would be waiting outside the door to begin the next interview. The day felt very rushed and by the last interview with the hiring manager I was exhausted (no food/coffee for ~4 hours!) and unable to provide adequate answers to their questions.

Interview
Unprofessional, Hasty, Uncourteous. Got a few rapid fire emails from the company and a question on even when would be my availability to the role. And didn't hear a word after that. These guys need to learn the basic etiquette to inform candidates of the rejection. Turning radio silent is not a good practice and will damage their reputation.
