I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at AlphaSights (New York, NY) in May 2016

      Interview

The interview process for AlphaSights is quite rigorous. You first submit your resume. If you are chosen for the next round, you have to record a video of yourself answering questions (you don't know what the questions will be prior to recording). If you pass that round, you will be invited to a Skype interview with a live recruiter. If you pass that round, you are invited for an in person interview in the office, where you will meet with at least two people. If you pass that round, you are invited for a final interview with a Director (basically a C list executive). I first met with Dominique Kleeman (Manager of Client Services), and this was a fairly straightforward interview initially. It was with her that I did a role play scenario where I was given two hypothetical client situations and I had to use a Chromebook to try and find the appropriate professionals on LinkedIn who could consult for our client in this situation. I was given fifteen minutes to search for people, and then I had to present my choices to her and explain why. After presenting my choice for the first scenario, she offered me some feedback before I discussed the second scenario. She told me that the biggest purpose for this role playing exercise is to see how quickly and effectively you can, so keep that in mind. Up next, I met with Alex Leclair (VP). If you meet with this guy, be prepared to be put through the ringer. He will dissect every possible weakness on your resume, whether you have any gaps or short stints in your work history, or if you took extra time to get your degree. For any question that he asks you, be prepared to be thoroughly explain/defend your answer. Even if your answer is fairly straightforward and well thought out, expect him to react as if you said something very foolish. He is definitely the type of interviewer who wants to test your grit.

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at AlphaSights (New York, NY) in Feb 2023

      Interview

Was a 10 minute initial phone interview at first, asked specific questions based on the content they sent beforehand. Was kinda annoying because some of the questions were clearly gotcha questions in case you didn't read through all the stuff they sent before.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AlphaSights (New York, NY) in Sept 2018

      Interview

Video Assessment followed by a phone interview (all behavioral - asked about the day to day of an associate), followed by an onsite interview that lasted about 2 hours. The interview was conducted by sets of 2 people, the first part was a case in which you needed to find 2 experts for each prompt as well as break down the value chain. This was difficult since that is barely enough time to even learn the basics of the value chains since the industries were very specific. There was also a role-playing component where you had to pretend to make a phone call. After that, it was all behavioral, but it was tricky since my one of my interviewers was asking rapid-fire questions so it didn't seem like a conversation. Also, he cut me off mid-sentence a few times which rubbed me the wrong way. Another annoying part was they only gave me a week to book a hotel room before my interview and only reimburse up to $200. This is not great considering hotels in NYC cost upwards of that amount not taking into account travel. Overall, I met a lot of nice people, the recruiter was really helpful and responsive. It's a really interesting company but they need to adjust some aspects of their interview process.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Why AlphaSights? What is your dream company (not including AlphaSights)? A bunch of behavioral questions. Case: Find two specific people for each prompt to address these clients issues. You need names, companies, and titles. Also, make sure you understand the value chain (all in 15 minutes).
