I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Allstate (Columbia, SC) in Dec 2016
Interview
I was contacted via email on the same day that I applied for the position. I was scheduled for a phone interview and then an online assessment. After the assessment, I was invited to a face to face interview. When I arrived on the day of the interview, I was turned away. I was told that the recruiter made a mistake and that they only hired people with a 4 year degree and that he would not interview me. When I spoke with the recruiter on my phone interview , I was told that my experience was enough. I was also told that the position doesn't REQUIRE a 4 year degree but some supervisors PREFER it. I was told that the position itself only required a high school diploma or a GED and for that reason, I should not have been turned away. I was told that the office that turned me away had received my resume in advance and accepted the interview. I am a college student and I graduate in May 5th of this year. The guy who turned me around wasn't the least bit sympathetic. I complained to ireport and never heard anything back. I had a very crappy experience with Allstate and I wasn't treated fairly.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Allstate (New York, NY) in Dec 2019
Interview
It was fairly easy. Phone call first. Met with a panel of Interviewers. The panel interview lasted about 40 minutes. It was behavioral in nature. I feel they were more concerned with the method of how you answered than the answer itself. It is good to have life experiences to share. How you dealt with a upset customer. How you handle something you no experience doing.
