Definitely one of the most disrespectful interview experiences of my career, and it was entirely avoidable.
It started with an inept scheduling process using an AI bot that couldn’t coordinate a time smoothly. After unnecessary back-and-forth, I ultimately rearranged holiday travel plans to accommodate an interview, which the recruiter scheduled on Christmas Eve. That alone should have been a red flag.
The interview itself was unprofessional, and then it somehow got worse: two weeks later, after two follow-ups from me, I received an email asking me to submit written responses to the same screening questions I’d already covered live because the recruiter apparently didn’t bother to take notes or capture anything meaningful from our conversation.
After I submitted the written responses, I waited another two weeks, sent multiple follow-ups, and then received an overnight, templated rejection email with no context and no courtesy update along the way.
For a company hiring senior talent, this process did not meet even a baseline standard of professionalism or care. Candidates are not disposable, and communication is not optional.
