The interview process was quite easy. I met with four people, all were welcoming, engaged and seemingly transparent. I received an offer quickly. I was told they saw huge potential for me at the company. I ultimately had to turn the offer down because the company would not allow me to take paid leave before working there for a year (I was 8 weeks pregnant at the time of offer). What really disappointed me was the unwillingness to discuss any possible solutions. It was a straight ‘no’ (not even the assurance that my job would be held if I took unpaid leave) that left me with no choice but to decline.
