They weren't organized with setting up interviews to start with. I wasn't too much bothered by that as smaller companies (and new teams) usually function in a less structured manner. Nonetheless, it was a red flag. My first interview, the person was 30 minutes late and I reached out to them about rescheduling. They immediately called me and gave me their reason for being tardy, "I was dealing with another employee". Honestly, that was a little off putting. It's okay to say you were sidetracked or really forgot. Another disappointing flag. I did move to the last stage of speaking with the hiring manager, which I was excited for. There was a mix up at the beginning of the conversation of where I was located which I thought was odd. Despite that, the conversation flowed and went well (so I thought). Then, I was ghosted, but really completely ignored. I knew before the holidays there would be some delays, but to not send an update after 3 weeks and dismissing my polite follow-up email is distasteful. I don't understand why companies/people continue to treat candidates this way.
