Alexander's Mobility Services interview questions

I met with the General Manager four times before flying to the corporate headquarters and meeting with the Owner and Director of Operations. The meetings with the GM were mostly over lunch and the conversations were about my personal life, where I lived and why I wanted to leave my current position. The meetings at headquarters were more focused on my experience, how I would react in situations, etc.

The hiring and interview process was extremely dragged out. I was initially contact via e-mail, and then had an initial but extensive phone interview with the hiring manager. A couple of weeks later, I had another phone interview with the VP of marketing out in California. I was finally brought for an in-person interview a month after THAT. I was told that they would be making a decision by the end of the week; at the end of week, they finally decided that that was an appropriate time to finally discuss salary--they still hadn't made a decision as to my candidacy. They refused to give me any kind of range for salary despite multiple requests. Finally, after extensive salary research and considering the costs of living, I named my salary request. It was reasonable to begin with, but I also made it clear that I was open to negotiation. They negotiated in completely bad faith, naming a salary which was about 37% lower than I had requested, and extremely low both for the position and the region. However, this sounded like a good opportunity, so I wanted to make it work. They refused to negotiate or come up even a few thousand dollars on their "offer", so I made arrangements to find a roommate, etc. to lower my monthly bills and thus allow me to accept their offer. I was given a start date for three weeks following, and agreed. However, they continued their bad faith behavior, and I received an email that we would not be moving forward since they could not meet my salary expectations--which was not their decision to make. Summary: Interview process was unreasonably long. They made me a low offer after negotiating in bad faith. They retracted their offer with no real explanation given.
