      Interview

The interview process was simple, as it was a conference of many people. The call was advised by a longtime leader of the company. The leader did a good job but there was a lot of misleading leading up to the call.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Aflac (Jonesboro, AR) in Apr 2023

      Interview

It was great honestly. It was a group setting. I was 1 of 5 people to be interviewed. Arrive a few minutes early, don't give yourself a chance to be late. Don't be nervous, just let the professional side of yourself through. You don't have to be strict though, be professional enough to be respectable, but laugh, interact, and be personable. DRESS FOR THE OCCASION!!! I cannot express that enough. When I got the email about the interview I saw the section at the bottom that said "Dress for success!" and I took that seriously. It made a great impression, I think I was the only one who actually dressed in any sort of business attire. I wore a suit, but you can wear business casual. Grab some slacks, a nice dress shirt, and look presentable. It will help more than you think. It shows that you actually have an interest. Firm handshake. (I literally said this in my head as he shook my hand. Highly recommended) You dont have to, but it helps to know the company your in an interview with. If you can answer their questions or even talk about the company and your research with the interviewer, it will blow them away. Again, genuine interest. I showed that I was willing to put in the work. (Honestly, I was just insanely nervous and I wanted t be prepared. I literally made a 21 slide power point presentation for myself.) It wont hurt to read into the history, I really love the story on why/how Aflac was created. It's pretty cool. Interact, if they ask a question, do your best to answer, ask questions. The more the better. Tell your story. When it comes to the actual process: You wait in the waiting room before the interview. I suggest to put your phone in your pocket before he comes around the corner just to be respectful. (He's a really chill dude, but I think these small things are the icing on the cake.) Matt comes back and brings you along with other people to the meeting room. Take a seat, he hands you a paper with a folder containing some papers with information about the company in it. Fill out the paper, and maybe scan over the flyers. Its about benefits and why aflac is a great company to work for. He will then ask you what experience that you have had that makes you a great fit for the team. This company is very customer service/support based, you can also talk about business skills you may possess. Where did you work, and how is that similar? Etc. During these conversations between the group, he will tell really great stories about his life. When everyone is done he gets pretty excited and starts the PowerPoint on Aflac. The history, the bragging points of the company, the benefits of working with Aflac, how the commission works, the bonus opportunities, etc. Again be interactive, reactive, show that you are listening and engaged. Once he ends the power point, its questions time. Ask at least one. Then when there are no more questions, he talks about when he will reach out if you are accepted. Then you are walked out of the office, make sure to shake his hand and thank him for his time. If you do at least half of this, you will be accepted and lead through the licensing process. I am 100% sure of that.

It was friendly, but they definitely pitch Aflac hard to you. Relatively easy interview questions: tell me about yourself, what do you know about Aflac, times working with clients in previous roles, comfortability working on commission, etc.
