      Associate Interview

      22 Aug 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Doylestown, PA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Adelphi (Doylestown, PA)

      Interview

I met a nice HR representative at a career fair. She sent me a job description, and I applied directly by email. When I arrived at the office, I was directed to a manager's office. This is where I found out the HR rep had given me a slightly different job description template than the job I was actually interviewing for at that time. Which was no big deal -- because I thought the HR rep and the company seemed very nice and I was flexible. But... The manager I interviewed with proceeded to berate me for not reading the job description. I explained that I had been sent the incorrect description, but that I was still excited to work for this agency and would like to hear about what they needed and how I could fit. The manager proceeded to ask me why I would waste her time, and I spent ~45 minutes being berated for showing up to the interview unprepared. It was totally debasing and awful and uncalled for -- given I had reached out to the company and was still showing interest. After meeting with her, I took a short bathroom break and literally cried. Then, I had the chance to meet the remainder of the office in 3-4 small group interviews. Everyone was super nice, personable, willing to share their experiences, understanding of my situation, and open to describing the actual job on offer. I made a short presentation which was fairly strait forward. But in the end I could not get over that manager being so horrible to me. So I called back on my drive home to say I was no longer interested. By far the worst interview I've ever had (I'm writing this review 3 years after the fact). With some jobs, it's a blessing when you don't receive an offer.
