Applied online. Received a call invitation to come in to interview for the position by a person who kept calling me, “Hon”.
I arrived about 15 minutes early and was asked to wait. Shortly after I arrived one person came out and stood at the reception area, looked at me and stayed there talking with the receptionist. About 10 minutes later, another person came out and did the same thing. No acknowledgment, nothing. Naturally, I thought they were on a break or something. Finally at 5 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, another woman came out. They all looked at each other, then the second person who came out walked over to me, introduced herself and asked me to follow her.
I was asked to tell them about myself and I gave a short explanation of my work experiences and qualifications. They seemed very excited, telling me the job was actually a combination of HR, Credentialing and Reception in addition to the Home Care Scheduling job that was listed. I was excited, thinking I found a place I could contribute with all of the experience I possess. They told me I was exactly what they were looking for.
My heart… and jaw dropped when I was told the position only paid what I made 15 years ago doing the same job(s) without any experience at all.
Naturally, I declined after I offered to take a $4.00 decrease to my asking wage was turned down.
What a shame…I was and still am extremely disappointed.
