      QA Tester Interview

      1 Sept 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Santa Monica, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Activision Blizzard (Santa Monica, CA) in Mar 2011

      Interview

After being approved for their interview process, me and maybe 40 other people all went into a screening process where we were tested on what we would do in certain situations. Along with an actual video game testing test (heh), where the interviewees had to write down what they found wrong with the video game. The test is not difficult. If you've played some games over the years, you generally know how things are supposed to look like. There are many obvious glitches and imperfections on the test they give you.

Entrevistadora muy amable. Por videollamada. En la primera entrevista hacen preguntas sobre estudios, experiencia, etc. Para el puesto de QA prefieren alguien con pasión por QA y no, por ejemplo, querer el puesto de paso siendo programador.

      QA Tester Interview

      7 Aug 2021
      Anonymous employee
      Raleigh, NC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Activision Blizzard (Raleigh, NC) in Aug 2021

      Interview

They explained themselves and their professional history. I did the same. They explained more about the contact length and possibilities once the contract ended. Those opportunities included: an extension, a spot within the company, or no extension. We discussed company and team culture. The next phase involved questions for myself. They asked about how one would test a hypothetical feature. They asked if I had encountered any bugs in a recent game and how I would make a bug report. Next question asked about process improvements I had made while working previously. The following question was about the software test lifecycle and how it related to testing. The next topic was interpersonal conflict and how to mitigate it. This concluded the portion where I answered questions. The next phase involved any questions I had. I asked about crunch (mandatory overtime) within the QA team, the size of the team, how often the game was patched, and how being a large part of a large company affected the job. This concluded the interview.
