For this post I was interviewed by 2 staff members, and it was a simple series of questions related to admin in a small private room. The interviewer leading was quite inarticulate and hard to follow, with the supporting interviewer often needing to step in to clarify. I found out later that the interviewers had disagreed on who to hire, with the lead favouring someone else. After it didn't work out with their first pick, I was contacted and offered the role, which I took. I was later interviewed for a promotion and this was with a panel of 3 interviewers and a much more structured interview process where I felt more able to demonstrate my suitability, so it looked like protocol had improved.
