It was mainly about experience and getting to know the candidate and discuss their business models. It was nice interview experience. There were not many steps to recruit people. Which I find better compared to recruitment processes with several steps.
I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at AWA Alexander Watson Associates (Amsterdam) in Nov 2018
Interview
The selection process was done by an external recruitment agency based in Amsterdam. The first round was with the CFO and someone from the Conferences and Events Team. The second round with the CEO. The selection process was simple. General open questions about your experience and motivation. After my interview with the CEO, all looked positive from both sides. They expressed their wish to move forward with an offer. At that point, I shared with the external recruiter my wish to work fewer hours the first part of the contract as I wish to take care of my <1yo daughter. I wanted to use the parental leave the NL offers to parents with children younger than 8 years old (Ouderschapsverlof). They were positive and asked me to come to the office for final details about the contract. We had a mature and honest conversation about parental leave. We came to an agreement about the number of hours, salary, the starting day and general conditions. After our conversation, just a few hours later, they contacted me with the decision that they won't hire me for the position after all. the reason why was that I am not a fit for the company's culture.
