ASM Financial Analyst interview questions

Applied online. Back and forth emails couple of times for additional information. Almost a month later interviewed with the hiring manager. Nothing special about the interview. Very general and few STAR type questions. 2 weeks later they let me know that my experience is more aligned with accounting. Vey surprised because I have never worked in accounting and in the interview we talked about my experiences which are budgeting forecasting variance analysis etc.
