I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at AOL (Dublin, Dublin) in Jun 2014
Interview
I have applied online and I was invitend for a screening interview. After few days I was notified that the first round went well and that they wanted me to go to their office for an on site interview. On site interview: was in 4 parts, one hour written tecnical test, one hour technical interview with engineers of the team, half hour with an HR guy and a final hour with two engineering managers.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Screening: general questions about bash scripting, unix/linux commands, SQL and Java (prepare on Jenkins, Junit)
On site interview: technical written test. I was asked to write some SQL queries, a Junit test to test a provided class and a few Bash questions. It was followed by another hour with two engineers member of the team, It was sort of a repetition of the previous written test, plus more questions on Python. I was also asked to solve a few simple programming problems, like reverse a list and similar.
The third interview was with a member of HR, he asked those classic questions, like were do you expext to be in 5 years time, what is success to you and how I ever dealt with a conflict with team members. The last interview is with the managers, it is quite relaxed and does not go too deep into technical details.
