I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at AMPER TECHNOLOGIES in Dec 2024
Interview
The first few minutes into the interview and you can sense how bad the culture will be working with the Team lead and the other Senior developer that was on the pair programming call. Introduction went like `Hi, I'm J... Been here two years. So. That's all`. The rest of the interview wasn't even pair programming. They stayed so quiet that they were bored to get out of the interview before you even have a chance to really get going. Asking questions they didn't even want to answer. I'm not sure what kind of pair programming they were looking for. It wasn't collaborative for sure. The atmosphere was so tense in the interview that you can cut with a knife. Overall, i would stay away if you even want a decent company with decent culture. This isn't it. For some reason i keep hearing one of them sighing loudly the whole time. Like they wanted to interview to end quickly. It's so unprofessional and odd to say the least.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Just create a project management system end-to-end from scratch using react etc. Wasn't hard at all but the whole time the experience from the two interviewer just made it awkward and tense for no real reason.
I had a second-round panel interview with Amper, and unfortunately, my experience with the company was incredibly disappointing. Despite offering innovative ideas for improving feature improvements, backlog management, and customer feedback, I was ghosted for weeks after the interview. It was incredibly frustrating to be left in the dark for so long, wondering if I would receive any kind of response or feedback. Eventually, when I did hear back from Amper, they informed me that they were looking for someone with not only project management experience but also manufacturing experience. This experience was extremely demoralizing, as I had invested a lot of time and effort into preparing for the interview and had thought that my skills and experience would make me a strong candidate for the role. To be dismissed so abruptly and without any explanation as to why my skills and experience were not a good fit was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. Overall, I would not recommend Amper as a company to work for. The lack of communication and transparency in their hiring process was incredibly frustrating, and the way I was treated left a very negative impression on me. If this is how they treat their job candidates, I can only imagine how they treat their employees.
