I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at ALDI (Chelmsford, England) in Jan 2017
Interview
1. Online tests (Numeracy, Verbal Reasoning, Personality).
2. Video Interview
3. Group Assessment - Make sure you visit at least one store and speak to store manager, store assistant and customers.
In the Group Assessment we were asked to:
1. Give a short presentation on ourselves, which University you are at, and your favourite Aldi product.
2. Give a short presentation on a randomly selected topic (e.g. Store layout, Special buys, Customers, Employees, Product range).
3. Choose a candidate for a role in managing the testing of a new store from a pile of CV's, debate amongst ourselves (5 of us total) which candidate we should put forward to Head Office and why, present our selection to the interviewer.
4. 30 minute interview with the Regional Managing Director followed by a 30 minute interview with the Regional Operations Director.
These are the questions the Regional Managing Director and Operations Director asked:
1. Tell me about yourself.
2. Tell us about Aldi.
3. Why do you want to work for Aldi?
4. Why should we hire you?
5. Have you got any questions for me?
Overall the Group Assessment was enjoyable, the final interview less so because you can't tell if the MD likes what you say, and in my case even less so because I was rejected the following day. No feedback given, despite reaching the final stage and speaking to the MD himself which I think is poor from Aldi, especially given the effort made to travel up to the offices on two occasions.
