Interview process was lengthy. Applied end of May and took almost two months to get to a 1:1 interview.
After filling in the application I was contacted via email within a couple of days to complete a video interview. Upon going this I was told I would be contacted within 5 days if successful. Over a week later I was asked to book a slot for a telephone interview. The earliest appointment for this was over a week later. Upon completion of this I was told I would be informed if I had been successful within 3 days. Nearly a week later I was asked to book in for a 'store experience' which would involve being shown the various areas of the store I would be working within. Again, earliest date available was the following week. Having arrived for my store experience I was told due to covid-19 it would not be possible to do a store experience and instead was sat down for an impromptu face to face interview - where I was asked basically the same questions as the telephone interview. During this, I was also informed that the position I was interviewing for may not even be available should the business decline once everyone started to go back to work etc. However I was informed if successful I would be kept in a 'talent pool' and contacted should a vacancy arise in the areas i had specified i would be able to work.
A few days later I received an email informing me i had been added to the talent pool. Since then I have seen various positions advertised in the areas specified and contacted recruitment about these to be told they were now gone. Makes you wonder whether there's a talent pool at all or whether Aldi don't want to tell candidates they've been unsuccessful in fear they may no longer take their custom to Aldi.
Overall a lengthy process with a confusing end.
Very easy interview process. I had a group interview and tour of the building. Then we did a one on one interview that lasted only a couple minutes to go over availability.
Questions were very peculiar,
“what is your interpretation of ALDI?”
“when you think if ALDI, what product comes to mind?”
“What is ALDI’s place in world”
Guy was nice but the questions were very unique.
