I applied for a role via LinkedIn, I received an email from a man at the company several days later asking me to attend a phone interview to discuss the position further. I explained that I had just travelled abroad for a holiday but would be happy to take a call while I was away. He said that it could wait until I was back in the UK. Several days later he emailed again to ask if it would be OK to have a call whilst I was still abroad as they were keen to get the ball rolling. This wasn’t a problem so we arranged a time and had a 30-minute call. We arranged a face to face at their London office once I was back home. I attended the interview with him and his colleague. It was a fairly relaxed affair and took around 30 minutes. I went through some of my work and we discussed the role further. I got the vibe it wasn’t going to go any further at this point as it was clear I wasn’t what they were looking for even though they’d seen my CV and portfolio prior to the interview. I was told he’d be in touch but I never heard anything back. Overall a pretty poor experience and considering I’d taken time out of my holiday to accommodate this company, I’d at least expect a professional response post-interview.
