The interview process took two months and 11 hours of my time. The initial part of the interview process was professional. However, in the final interview, it was mentioned that the company was still a "good old boys" mentality, there were some personality issues, and some employees were territorial, but I could overcome this. I was left with the information that I was the #1 choice for this position and a possible sales position and would be contacted in a week.
Interviews held with AIST were approximately 2-3 hours long and conducted with a series of behavioral questions. I met many of the company employees who asked some very specific situational questions. Some employees appeared very happy while others were discontent. I followed up with a thank-you note to all individuals after each interview. To date, I have not heard a word back from this organization. I realize companies are not required to follow-up with interviewees, but I felt that since I was told I was "#1" and would receive a call that I would hear something back, good or bad.
I can only guess what happened after my final interview. Based on some of the issues brought to light in my final interview and the type of questions asked by employees, I like to think that I dodged a bullet. I cannot help but question the integrity of an organization that prides itself on service and people, but does not have the courtesy to follow-up with a candidate when promising to do so.
