3 interviews. 1) Senior Recruiter 2) Hiring Manager 3) VP First interview was basic questions about work history, salary expectations, company ethos, high level stuff. Second interview was about the job itself, the future of the department, and overall fit. Third was a vibe check with senior VP. The challenge wasn't with the interviews. My concern is the post-interview communication. They left me in the dark for weeks with zero follow up, and after I finally reached out to find out what was going on, I was given a canned response. For background, I was referred to a senior role and participated in 3 interviews, so I replied professionally and requested feedback from the hiring manager. A totally normal request, and industry standard. After a month and multiple follow ups, including to the person who originally referred me, I finally received a response from their Senior Recruiter. Not paraphrasing... "we are not able to provide specific feedback." To say I was speechless would be an understatement. I don't mind that I didn't get the job, it wasn't in my industry, but I was also told it was down to 2-3 candidates, so to not even get an empathetic reply with an ounce of feedback is, in my opinion, a huge red flag and a clear lack of understanding to the interview process or the responsibility to your interviewees. Needless to say, I've removed myself from future consideration. I would also warn any prospective employees who hold companies to a high standard of ethicacy, to look elsewhere. My experience was unpleasant and I wouldn't want anyone to waste their time interviewing for a company who obviously doesn't respect you.
