614 Media Group interview questions

Had applied when I saw the listing on their website for a Creative Designer, heard back within a week or so to set up a phone call interview. That all went well and seemed good. The EIC then asked me to make some samples of an interior spread and of an ad for their beer. He gave me the copy, but then never gave me the images, I had to ask and it took at least 2 weeks to get access to the images I needed. I submitted my samples and didn’t hear back for three weeks, when I finally did he emailed me to say “I didn’t forget about you, I’ll get back to you by the end of the week.” That week goes by, nothing. I waited a few more weeks and reached out again and never heard back. If you didn’t want to hire me or didn’t like my work, that is completely okay, but ghosting is beyond unprofessional and really got my hopes up for nothing. I would say in general my experience was fine, but definitely disappointing of this company to treat prospective employees this way, and based on other reviews that I am seeing on this page, I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised. Note for the managers: Good, bad or ugly, be straight up with people.

Overall rude staff. I waited 15+ minutes to actually have my in person interview. High stress environment where you feel tension and cliques in the air the moment you walk in. If you are not an extroverted partier, you will not fit in at 614. I was disappointed not only in the lack of care about applicants, but the brief dismissal of my resume and education. Why even bring me in to interview?
