I applied through university. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at 5 North (New York, NY) in Feb 2014
Interview
The interview was a 3 round interviewing process.
1st Round - Brief Interview. This round involved the hiring manager asking about my past experiences, getting to know me, and an explanation of the position.
2nd Round - I got to see exactly what a typical day would involve. Also got an opportunity to see the career opportunity behind the entry level sales.
3rd Round - Also a brief interview just to wrap up the whole interviewing process.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at 5 North in Feb 2014
Interview
The process is very simple. They call you up and schedule a time for you to come in for a quick initial interview. They will ask you to dress in business attire and bring your resume. No red flags as you should look professional on an interview. Ultimately, you will get there and be handed a clipboard where you answer a list of questions about yourself to fill out and return. You will not be alone as there are others in this waiting area filling out their forms and handing It back with their resumes. You will only be here a short time. Once you are called in you will merely be reviewing what you have written with a hiring manager. This interview can be alarmingly short as they are merely looking to meet you face to face and see if you are genuinely interested in their business which they will tell you little about. Yes it is a sales position. Yes you can make money. If you are called back for the 2nd interview be prepared to come back with your resume yet again and fill out an even more extensive questionnaire. Be prepared to shadow a sales rep going door to door ( business to business ) giving his pitch on Direct Energy all day, this means wear nice but comfy shoes. If you can make it through the day kudos to you. Hopefully you have showed this rep that you have the aptitude and the willingness to go door to door or rather bodega to dry cleaner giving the same pitch. Once back at the office you'll have a 3rd interview in which you discuss the day with a hiring manager. He/ she will basically ask if you are willing to conduct business they way they do and your thoughts of the day. If all goes well and you show a willingness to hit he streets you'll probably get called with an offer.
