Having submitted my CV and cover letter, I was asked to complete a 2-task assignment before any interviews took place.
My assignment seemed good to them, so I was invited for an initial panel interview of 15 minutes - which was a fixed time, no other option given and no questions asked. Generally felt like I was receiving automated messages throughout the hiring process and never spoke to a real person...
I worked around the timeslot I was given to be able to make it. The interview was with 3 people who of course didn't have enough time to introduce themselves to me or tell me more about the company, team structure or role. I also wasn't able to ask any questions. The individual from the Marketing department was asking the questions in such a rushed manner, it was appalling, and I was interrupted several times when I was presenting my answers as she didn't want the 'full story' just to hear the keywords she needed, and for me to 'get to the point', so we could wrap up the interview and they could hop on their next call...
To my surprise, I was invited for a second, more in-depth interview, which was supposed to be longer, not 15 mins this time, but 30 minutes - or so I thought. Again, I was just sent a slot, not asked for my availability or given the option to choose a time/date. I joined the call on time but the panel admitted me to the call with a 10-minute delay, therefore leaving us with 20 minutes to chat... It was a 3-people panel again.
They apologised for the delay at first, ending with "you'll have less time with us due to this delay, so let's get started..." - as if I was the one to blame for the delayed start!
The same Marketing person from the initial call was asking the questions - again, so rushed - none of it even made sense and there was no time for me to ask for clarifications, or process and understand the questions in order to respond clearly and properly.
It was chaotic; two of the team members barely spoke and didn't seem present/weren't paying any attention at all. The individual asking the questions kept switching her video on and off resulting in me being totally distracted and thrown off by the behaviour, losing my train of thought as I was trying to figure out if the connection was bad/they disconnected etc. She'd open the mic/camera to speak, then as I was mid-sentence, she would disappear. No warning, no explanation, no justification, nothing. I have never experienced anything like it.
Pure chaos. So dismissive and unserious. Felt like a waste of my time.
