      Frontend Developer Interview

      23 Apr 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at 1-800 Contacts in Apr 2026

      Interview

It starts with a coding assessment with Angular, RxJS, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS, but beyond the basics of CSS, so it is not easy stuff like basic ID or class selectors. It is not like Leetcode algorithms, but rather multiple choice questions as well as programming portions. If you do at least decently on this assessment, they'll move you to the first HR screen, which is pretty straightforward and nothing technical. Then, the round with two managers. They were very nice, kept talking about how great it was, and kept saying "good answer" and then I didn't advance with a generic rejection email from HR a few days later. Very disappointing, because I have no idea what they actually wanted, and I really need a job right now. I can only assume that there were so many people in the pipe that I must've set something off arbitrarily. Either that, or they are great liars.
