      Heartbroken Leaving - Great Company

      Business outlook

      Pros

-Work life balance was amazing! Unlimited PTO! I worked directly with my manager mainly and she never micromanaged, understood when I needed time off, and always made sure I was doing good. -I gained so much experience in client relations, marketing skills, sales, events, and more! If there was something new I wanted to implement I was supported and given the tools for success. -I had to drive a lot some days for my job to see clients so being reimbursed for gas was nice -Fun culture! I got to go to Cali and ATX for two trips where I got to bond more with my team and other teams at Wonolo. It helped make me feel so connected to people while being fully remote. -Yong! He went out of his way to remember some type of fun fact about each employee. I got to meet him at our retreat in Cali and it really felt like he cared so much about his workers. Overall, I really loved my time at Wonolo. I felt like I gained so many skills, worked with great people, and was spoiled by the work life balance and culture.

      Cons

I was laid off during the second round of RIF's, which I saw coming after the first round most poeple in my position was. It was honestly heartbreaking for me since I loved this job so much.

      Great culture, great leaders.

      Pros

Empathetic and human leadership. Strong culture of smart, hard working people. Remote work, care for employees’ whole selves.

      Cons

      Complex and challenging business model

Good People, Poor Leadership, and Unclear Roadmap

      Business outlook

      Pros

The company has a strong and inspiring mission. For the most part, the coworkers were great and supportive, which made day-to-day work more enjoyable.

      Cons

Unfortunately, leadership and culture have lost their way over time. There were multiple rounds of layoffs, and many of the decisions made during these periods didn’t make much sense. Engineering lacks a clear roadmap, which adds to the uncertainty. There seemed to be an excessive focus on surface-level activities rather than concentrating on driving meaningful business outcomes. Overall, the future felt uncertain with little clear direction.

      Not a great experience

      Senior product designer

      Business outlook

      Pros

My friend worked there, so I had a built-in-buddy.

      Cons

Toxic positivity culture. Boys club mentality. Mismanagement of strategy and planning by leadership led to massive layoffs. I was impacted by the first round while 7 months pregnant. When I was first hired, my boss was fired two days before I was to start. Huge red flag, but I had already put in my notice at my other job. I've never been treated so poorly as a woman in tech. One of the worse employment experiences in my career. Would not recommend working here unless they've completely restructured management and revamped their culture.
