      Good Internship, Bad Re-hire

      Software engineer intern
      Former employee
      Colombo, Western
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      - Opportunities could be gained that could change your life for the better - Great learning but challenging environment - To-the-point meetings and clear communication among almost everybody - You can sense a good work/peer-pressure always - Good food/fun activities at new office - International recognition even if you are an intern due to brand value

      Cons

      - Most times you are on your own and too much time wasted on fiddling around because mentors/supervisors are too busy (they really don't care that much about interns, literally one mentor said that they only do this as a support) - Networking / Office Contacts are prioritized more over technical skills specially when re-hiring. If you are buddies with your mentor, huge chance to re-hire you permanent. - Cannot say degree-discrimination is non-existent to some extent. - Your are just a statistic most of the time

      Pros

Innovative Work Environment – WSO2 focuses on cutting-edge technology in API management, integration, and identity solutions. Open-Source Culture – Employees get to work on open-source projects, contributing to the global developer community. Learning & Growth Opportunities – Exposure to cloud, DevOps, security, and integration technologies. Work-Life Balance – Generally considered to have a good balance compared to other tech firms. Collaborative Team Culture – Encourages teamwork and knowledge sharing.

      Cons

Steep Learning Curve – Requires strong technical skills and deep understanding of integration platforms. Limited Brand Recognition – Compared to larger competitors like MuleSoft and Apigee. Challenging Customer Demands – Clients may require extensive customization, increasing workload. Fast-Paced Environment – Requires adaptability to evolving technologies and business needs. Limited Regional Presence – Some regions may have fewer career growth opportunities compared to global giants.

This company has a seriously toxic workaholic culture.

      Software engineer
      Former employee
      Colombo, Western
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

This company has a seriously toxic workaholic culture. The expectation is that you’re available 24/7. Work life balance is nonexistent and burnout is very common. I mean at least, if you’re not one of the manager's favorites, expect long hours and little recognition. The management seems more focused on pushing productivity than supporting employee well being. If you’re looking for a healthy environment, look elsewhere.

      Cons

Toxic work culture with unrealistic expectations Favoritism in management

It was hard, but the experience was golden

      Machine learning engineer
      Former employee
      Colombo, Western
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      - Really good salary and benefits - Supportive and approachable seniors - Get to work with lots of cutting-edge technologies and concepts - Recognition for your effort

      Cons

      - Everyone is really competent, so you will have to work really hard to shine, which might be stressful. - Even if you are not in support, you might have to join calls for war rooms outside work hours, without OT. - At higher levels, even if you perform really well, it might be hard to get promoted. - Some products might not have a proper vision with respect to business value, but I was a fresh graduate back then, so I might not have seen the bigger picture.
