      Cons

Management is toxic and communication is shocking. They will work you to the bone, you get 10 mins of a toilet break in your 8 hour shift and if you dare to go over it then be prepared to have to answer to every manager in the place. They will micromanage you as much as physically possible and every supervisor will say it comes from someone higher up than them. Any good review you see on here for the company is fake, HR see a bad review and create fake accounts to leave good reviews so take any positive reviews with a pinch of salt. They will monitor your every single move. Management are constantly on your back to reduce talk time on calls but will then keep adding more and more information to say on the calls, common sense would tell you this would increase talk time but unfortunately some in management don’t have two brain cells to keep each other company in the empty space between their ears. If you get a job here the best thing you can do to get on well is kiss up to everyone it’s the only way you will ever progress and if you don’t then you are labelled as negative and won’t get on. You will start your job in one department which is fair but within a couple of months you will be up skilled to “support” different lines depending on how busy it is, what they don’t tell you is that you could be on 3 or 4 lines at once and will change your line without letting you know so you won’t be prepared for incoming calls. No matter how good you are at the line you are on, unless you can kiss up to the right managers you will never get on in here. The salary isn’t great and they make so many promises that never happen and the bonus is never paid in full either. It’s a non for profit company but each year will make a profit but what they do is they count depreciation of their building into their financial report at the end of the year to make it appear as if they e only broke even or made a loss so they don’t have to pay out a full bonus and will then increase premiums for members year on year. You will be abused to dirt on the phone by aggressive customers and will be sworn at regularly and abused but you are expected to remain calm on the phone and accept the abuse and still try get the member to upgrade their package even though they’re giving out about an increase in premiums. For the love of god, do yourself a favour and don’t work here. VHI was once a fantastic company to work for but over the years they have lost touch and management have distanced themselves from the real world and focus to much on results and don’t care about their staff.

The best work-life balance I have experienced with the nicest people

      Senior digital business analyst
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Working at Vhi offers a genuinely balanced and sustainable professional environment, It has incredible work–life balance with meaningful, purpose-driven impact. The culture is supportive where collaboration is valued over internal competition and leaders are generally accessible and pragmatic. I worked with some of the nicest people here where you felt comfortable to challenge them. There is salary progression and good benefits. The overall benefits package is great, good pension contributions, solid annual leave, healthcare, supports flexibility and personal commitments for good work life balance. Management are very approachable and its a job I genuinely loved.

Career growth can be a bit slower than what some might hope for.

      Pros

Good benefits earned after many years of employment

      Cons

Depending on employment date you may be “penalised “ on pay. The antiquated pay scales and the on paper bonus schemes should be reviewed.
