What is the hiring process like at Unifi?

      Unifi reviews

      Rescinded offers

      Pros

      Nil nil nil nil nil

      Cons

After working through the hiring process for two months and having an offer in hand, my job offer was rescinded with no reason being given less than 6 days prior to my employment start date. That’s after passing all the reference checks, security and background checks as well as a personal commitment from a Unifi Vice President.

      Pros

The people you meet there are great

      Cons

Management will pick favorites and fire the hardworking employees and keep their families with employment. A TON LOAD of favoritism. Managers were hiring families and giving promotions to their family members. If you point out problems like being understaffed management will find any way to fire you. You can miss one day because management told you not to come in and they fire you. But one of their favorite employee/ family damages 2 planes while pushing out and they just get put on a leave and get their job back. Poor communication from management to employees. - Poor training of managers, supervisors & employees. - Supervisors and a manager who demean employees when concerns are brought to their attention. - The applicability of company policy depends upon whether or not an employees is favored by a supervisor/manager. - Neither managers nor supervisors are trained in healthy communication, conflict resolution, and are not on the same page about Unifi or Delta's cabin service goals and standards. - New management has not developed positive relationships with supervisors in order to create "buy in" for their new agenda, which has led to even more variation between supervisors actions and loose implementation of policy. - Most employees seem fearful of getting reprimanded by whomever their superior is, and their fear causes poor behavior and has contributed to a very negative work culture. - Many employees to not feel comfortable reporting on-the-job injuries. - When management feels frustrated, they punish by taking away privileges (i.e. shift swapping, etc.) instead of clearly communicating expectations and holding accountable only the employees who struggles to follow policy. The toxic work culture, miscommunication, and lack of respectful actions and words are all matters that can be corrected with well-trained and well-intentioned station leadership. Some of the supervisors and team leads seem capable of learning healthy ways to lead and supervise employees.

      Former employee
      Asheville, NC

      Business outlook

      Pros

The job in working with airplanes is great. Working with toxic people. Not so much.

      Cons

You have to fit a certain look and culture to work here. Non USA citizens welcome. Are you a USA citizen born and raised? You won’t fit in. Are you Hispanic? Your ok. Are you from an island? You’re ok. Are you anything else well your not ok. There extremely large turn over. they even hire people who are very sick should scream red flag. They lost 8 people in a week. Camaraderie doesn’t exist. Back stabbing does. It’s like working in a middle school even if you keep to yourself. Make a mistake because you’re new. You won’t hear about it. You won’t be told. They just talk about how dumb you are behind yous back. Training? What training? This is a figure it out on your own read the book kind of place. They have removed decent fight Bennifits so it’s very difficult to board a plane. You have to ride stand by and you’re the last person to be excepted. So if you’re going to be able to travel think again. Also forget about anyone working for you. Everyone here can’t stand anyone else. They pretend but that’s about it unless your from there country. Unifi hires illegals. They have a new round of hires this month. Maybe one will stay.

      Pros

Short shift options and discounted flights

      Cons

Chaotic organization, rude employees who aren’t reprimanded for mistreating coworkers because there’s no one to replace them. Make bets on how long new people will stay and then drive them away with rude, catty behavior
