Great to get in the federal workforce, network and meet great people, pay is decent.

Favor seniority too much. New people get the worst shifts and days off for too long. Micromanaging is horrible aswell.

Federal benefits, good pay for the area I lived, step up yearly salary, good supervisors at my airport, good small team who looked after each other, fairly good opportunities for advancement, good overtime opportunities

Constant rule changes, angry passengers, office politics, government shutdowns = you work still and don’t get paid

Work schedule, work life balance is not there. It’s really hard for people who have families and small children.

PROLONG STANDING ...... comfortable shoes , insoles and exercise, I cant stress this enough. There is a lot of locker room talk and nonsense that floats around... do your job and stay away, Many of the management and supervisors are unqualified.

Good benefits, good pay, better pay if you're able to travel. The health benefits are very good. Great for single folks or people with flexible schedules. Diversity and inclusion are highly encouraged, and there is strong emphasis on maintaining assertiveness, especially with females or persons who have previously worked in toxic environments.

Does not provide a good work/life balance if you're married or have families. Schedules are based on workplace needs, and is shift work. Working at smaller airports strongly limits promotional opportunities, and clique culture is more tolerated at smaller airports.
