Your life will be only sales

      Pros

Good benefits and pay when the business is good. Good team activities and rewards when you do well.

      Cons

Not a lot of support it is very sink or swim mentality. They are very misleading and pushy with sales approach. They do a pointless meetings every month to reward the same people who somehow do the crazy goals they put forth. Borderline impossible goals. No one wants the product you are selling. Tons of rude customer interactions because they dont want to buy solar they want a can of paint from home depot. Its the most stressful and difficult sales job you will ever have. Oh and there is ZERO work life balance because to contact your clients you use your own phone and are contacted on and off work hours by management and clients.

A lot of promise, little delivered

      Business outlook

      Pros

Steady hours, decent benefits, base pay plus commission, mostly good culture

      Cons

THey WAY oversell you on what you can realistically make. The numbers they show you for commission are based on top earners in CA. You can see everyone's stats and earnings 24/7 for the entire company at your position so you can clearly see the disparity from state to state (which is not SunRun's fault, the market is just different everywhere). The most I saw for NJ is a CEA averaging about 72k a year, but they worked outside of their 40 hrs as well. Most average about 32k-37k. Management has also really gone down hill since Mary Powell took over. They are using new metrics that make it extremely hard to hit your goals. They will put you on a performance improvement plan if you don't get enough leads, even in dead months where it is expected you won't get as much, and just because you get a lead doesn't mean they will sell. I had a lot that should have sold but it was out of my hands after I booked them and then the sales reps sometimes wouldn't even show up to the home.

      Business outlook

      Pros

Great pay unlike any other job, high energy meetings, Learn to run a business quickly, can have great camaraderie.

      Cons

Not for everyone. Can feel rudderless and needing direction if under a hands off manager. You must feel comfortable completely by yourself. Must learn quickly to be okay with no motivation as the most successful sales personnel make it into a scheduled habit to door knock without the need for motivation.

I got to talk to a lot of amazing people, good benefits, good pay.

      Cons

I was a lead generator, I set up appointments for sales. Once I made the appointments the sales where out of my hands. If the sales team didn't sell 2 appointments a month, I was held responsible. I had an 80% sit rate.
